Hockey, Tech & Rock: Admirals' Cowbell Revolution, nvisia's MKE Tech Scene, VISIT MKE's February Fun, & Summerfest's Early Lineup Drop!

This month's EXP MKE podcast brings you four segments packed with Milwaukee's winter happenings, early summer announcements, and everything in between.

Milwaukee Admirals: The Cowbell Revolution

Milwaukee Admirals President John Greenberg joined the show with updates on the team's solid season despite roster shuffles with Nashville.

The big news?

The Admirals are temporarily rebranding as the "Milwaukee Cowbells" from February 24-28, celebrating the iconic Saturday Night Live "More Cowbell" sketch's 25th anniversary.

SNL's Chris Kattan will appear at the February 25th game, while the February 28th game will feature an attempt to break the world record for most cowbells rung simultaneously.

Fans can win tickets by texting "COWBELL" to 414-338-8911 (TextMKE) by February 2, 2025.

As Greenberg put it, "We love sports in Wisconsin...we make winter fun because we all know summer isn't long enough."

NVISIA: Milwaukee's Tech Scene

Tracy Barrett, nvisia’s Senior VP of Products and Services, shared her 25-year journey from software developer to leadership.

Barrett built iconic projects like H&R Block's first mobile tax app, Hertz's first online reservation system, and GE Healthcare's patient bedside monitors.

The Milwaukee-based tech company remains deeply connected to the local community, with Barrett emphasizing: "The tech community here, it's connected. It's a friendly space. We just take a lot of pride in it...we like to prove that Milwaukee can compete."

Visit Milwaukee: February Happenings

Claire from VISIT Milwaukee highlighted February's can't-miss events.

This weekend features Mitten Fest at Burnhardts, where, as Claire notes, there's plenty of "what my family refers to as cold medicine...whiskey." Family activities include Free Day at the zoo with its impressive new penguin exhibit. Later this month, Cedarburg Winter Festival (February 15) offers ice racing and family-friendly winter fun, while the Mama Tried Motorcycle Show (February 22) brings custom bikes and the famous "Flat Out Friday" race where Dr. Pepper is poured on the track for traction. Hotel Month discounts continue through February 13th—perfect for locals planning staycations.

Summerfest: Early Lineup Reveal

Jerrod from Summerfest dropped a bombshell announcement: the 2025 lineup releases February 12th at 6 AM—significantly earlier than previous years.

"This is way earlier than we've done it in the past. It's been a goal of our team ever since last year," Jerrod explained.

Recent headliner announcement Vincent Boon is just the beginning, with over 100 more acts coming soon.

Jerrod's favorite Summerfest memory?

Walking from Dustin Lynch to Violent Femmes playing "Blister in the Sun" to Steve Miller Band performing "The Joker" all in one night. As Jerrod put it: "Where else do you get to experience that? Nowhere."
