Brewing Up Girl Power: EXP MKE's March Madness Celebrates Women (After a Quick Hockey Check)

Your favorite local podcast returns this March with hosts Steve and Adam delivering a spirited celebration of International Women's Month – but not before chatting with Milwaukee Admirals defenseman Kevin Gravel.

The hockey pro shared insights about his 11-year professional journey while enduring Adam's hilariously awkward one-liner suggestions based on his “gravy” nickname.

With the hockey talk wrapped up, the podcast pivoted to its Women's Month theme by welcoming Dana Moyano from nvisia, who brought along two self-described "badass women in tech" – Lori Videkovich from Generac and Bella Oung from Regal Rexnord.

The tech trio discussed their leadership roles in digital transformation, their involvement with Women in Technology Wisconsin, and how AI capabilities have rapidly evolved over the past year.

Next up, Claire from Visit Milwaukee breezed through an impressive March events calendar, highlighting the Food and Froth fundraiser at Milwaukee Public Museum (a 25-year tradition that always sells out), the 57th Shamrock Club St. Patrick's Day Parade on March 15th, and the NCAA March Madness tournament games coming to Milwaukee. She also gave a shout-out to Adepticon, the massive war gaming convention that will bring over 8,000 visitors to the Baird Center.

The featured interview spotlighted Julianna Pierandozzi, a Southeastern Sales Rep for Three Sheeps Brewing, who discussed the Women's Beer & Spirits Collective.

This group of 14 women from breweries, cideries, and spirit companies organizes creative events throughout March – from luaus to drag bingo – raising funds for women's charities across Wisconsin. Julianna shared their plans to expand beyond March, noting that "women are people all year round, and these charities definitely need donations and supplies all year."

Throughout the episode, Adam couldn't help mourning his beloved Cashmere Hammer, a discontinued Three Sheeps nitro stout.

Meanwhile, Steve consistently steered conversations back to Milwaukee's vibrant food, drink, and entertainment scene – proving once again why EXP MKE remains the go-to podcast for all things Milwaukee.

Sponsored by Summerfest, Crescent9 THC Seltzers, and New Barons Brewing, the episode perfectly captured Milwaukee's community spirit and showcased the impressive women making waves across the city's tech, tourism, and beverage industries.
